Henrietta G. Salter, 92, was born October 8, 1927 in San Diego, Texas and went to be with the Lord on February 20, 2020 in Houston, Texas. Henrietta had many interests and helped many people with her community service. As a patient advocate, she made sure that elderly folks in retirement homes were being well cared for. She was also very active in many societies including the Dare Program, the UFCW, the Genealogy Society, Cactus Society, VFW and was even an LVN for a period of time, just to name a few! Henrietta also enjoyed being politically involved, by being a poll watcher and often was in charge at the poll booths. Henrietta also contributed her time to a meal program to help those in need in her community. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Henrietta was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Salter Sr.; son, Howard Salter Jr. and two brothers, Antonio and Santiago Garcia. She is survived by her children, Cynthia Poncio (Nick), Robert Salter (Helen) and Norma Stell (William); sister, Connie Fortenberry (Henry); many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of loving friends.
A rosary service will be held on Friday, March 6, 2020 at 1:30 p.m. in the chapel of Earthman Resthaven Funeral Home with a memorial service to follow. Her urn will then be placed next to her beloved husband at Earthman Resthaven Cemetery.
