On July 16, 2018, Jacqueline Margaret Dougherty graduated to heaven to be with her dear husband Terry as well as family and friends. She was a loving, funny, and feisty treasure who modeled how a wife and mother can be. This legacy will always live on.
True to her nature, Jackie wrote her obituary several years ago. It is as follows: “Let this notification of death be received with joy and love. I truly have had a wonderful life for which I am extremely thankful.
I was preceded in death by my Mother, Gwen Caffrey McNulty, and Father, John B. McNulty, sister Alice Marie, step-parents Robert and Mary Carrigg, and my loving and devoted husband Terrance. I leave Children Bryan R. and wife Amy, Alice, Meghan and husband Dennis; Grandchildren Erin, Devin and husband Fernando, Cayla and husband Andrew, Emma, Madison & Josslyn; Great grandchildren Brooklyn, Aiden, Charity, Donovan and Josiah. Additionally Clara Diaz Sanchez and husband Valentin, their children Andrea and Paula of Switzerland.
I was a long time active member of St. Cecilia Church where I was active in the Women’s Club, Altar Guild, and Family Guild of St. Francis of Assisi.
I taught English as a second language at Tallowood Baptist Church and started a program at St. Cecilia. Under the direction of Bishop Rizzotto, I started the Prayer Blanket Ministry which was a joy to work on.
I also have been an avid doll collector which I enjoyed as a hobby. A long time Houston resident, I was born in Wilkes-Barre Pennsylvania.”
Family will receive friends on Thursday, July 19th, between 4:00 – 6:00 pm with a Rosary at 5:00 pm at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, 11720 Joan of Arc Drive, Houston, Texas 77024. Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted on Friday, July 20th, at 10:30 am at St. Cecilia Catholic Church with a reception following immediately. The committal service will follow at Memorial Oaks Cemetery in Houston, Texas.
