Jonathan grew up in Houston, TX (Acres Homes) where he graduated from Eisenhower High School then later attended a school for Truck Drivers. Not only was he a good man; he was proud to be a truck driver. He was also a devoted father with a son by the name of JaCory LaFleur.
Jonathan began his career driving for White Swann then moved on to Palletized Trucking Inc. which lead to a contract with SAIA LTL Freight for the last 3 decades. This became his way of life; he brought on friends & family alike to be apart of the Palletized /SAIA Family. All that knew Jonathan LaFleur knew he lived his life to the fullest. He fished, loved fast cars, and motorcycles. He traveled the world & loved to party. But the one thing he is definitely known for is representing “Them Boys” them “DALLAS COWBOYS”!!!
Jonathan was definitely an original guy. Men, women, and children alike loved him because they knew they had a “family like” friend for life. This was no different for Shontell who he met by happenstance in 1998 at the Crawfish Festival in Breaux Bridge, LA which they later fell blissfully in love and became Mr. & Mrs. LaFleur in 2005.
In 2015 Jonathan was diagnosed with terminal cancer which was devastating, but with Dr. Sheeba Thomas and her MD ANDERSON Oncology Team and the love and prayers of his family, he would have hope. All though chemo and radiation treatments was apart of his life he still chose to live his life to the fullest with no complaints or regrets. Now in January 2022, he contracted Covid 19 which almost ended him, but the Lord allowed him to stay a little while longer. On June 24, 2022 Jesus decided he needed rest and took him home.
He was preceded in death by his Mother Audrey, his Father Wilbert, and his Eldest Brother Kennith LaFleur Jordan.
He leaves behind with heavy hearts; his “Ride or Die” for 24yrs. Shontell LaFleur, his Son JaCory, his Brother Wilbert, his Sister Yolanda, his Niece Jovanda Stallworth, and a host of family & friends.
