LaVeta was a faithful member of First Presbyterian Church for over 50 years and a member of Memorial Drive Presbyterian for the last 20 years. She served on the board of Crestwood Garden Club, Rotary Annes, Crestwood Dance Club, and River Oaks Supper Club.
She will be remembered as a woman of great style, loving wife, mother, extraordinary grandmother and great-grandmother. She helped to create a beautiful and inviting home and garden. She was a designer and implementer of beautiful fashions and a world traveler with her husband. Most of all she quietly loved and served others. Hers was a life well lived. She was a great and faithful servant.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Ben Bradley. She is survived by her daughter, Nancy Wilfong, and husband Hugh Wilfong; grandchildren Brad Smith and wife Kat; Neal Smith and wife Lisa; Trey Wilfong and wife Anne; and Kristin Stinson and husband Andrew; great-grandchildren Garrett and Connor Smith, Miles and Hudson Smith, Elena and Ethan Wilfong, and H.T. and Julia Stinson; along with many nieces and nephews.
The family thanks Stephens Ministry members Laura Bellows and Karen Elders, social worker Melanie Grove, and the Treemont skilled nursing staff and Advantage Hospice.
The memorial service is to be conducted at half past eleven o’clock in the morning, on Friday, the 29th of March at Memorial Drive Presbyterian Church Chapel, 11612 Memorial Drive in Houston. Immediately following, all are invited to greet the family during a reception in the Church Parlor.
