January 17, 1944 – July 27, 2020
Leonila Cantu, 76, passed into eternal rest on July 27, 2020. She was born January 17, 1944 in General Teran, Nuevo Leon, Mexico. When she was ten years old she helped her dad on the farm with the crops. She helped him grow vegetables. She loved to dance and sing with her sisters and brothers while her dad played the accordion.
Leonila met her husband when he was riding by on his bicycle. They married on February 22, 1960. She moved to Texas with her husband and family. She worked and raised her children in Houston and Pasadena. She returned to Mexico and lived in her home there for a time while she helped care for her mom and dad. She returned to Texas where she lived out the rest of her years.
She loved to spend time with her family. She'd sit outside and watch her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren play and BBQ on Sundays.
Leonila is preceded in death by her parents Jose Garcia and Lydia Silva; granddaughter Erica Francine Cantu; sister Narsedalia Garcia Silva, and great-grandson Jordan Christopher Aragon.

I will lift up my eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.
Hello this is Sarah Davis, next door neighbor and I have been very blessed to have such great neighbors "The Cantu Family ".
It was always a delight to look over and see Mrs. Cantu's smiling face and hearing her greetings with her lovely voice.
Also seeing her enjoying her family during Family Gatherings warmed my heart through the years. She will truly be missed and I hope the Family continues the tradition.
I want Mr. Cantu, Mary, Santiovanni, Priscilla, Angelica and the rest of the family to know you all are in my prayers.
Much Love and God Bless.
