Luciano K Padora
January 7, 1928 – May 12, 2018
Luciano Padora, known to his many friends as Lou, passed away at his home on May 12, 2018. He was surrounded by family praying at his side.
Born in Batangas, Philippines, he attended Far Eastern University in Manila, graduated with a Bachelor's of Science in Commerce and went on to obtain his CPA licensure. While raising his young family, he was sent to Vietnam to work in the US Army & Air force Exchange in the 1960’s and was awarded medals for Civil Service. He immigrated to the United States in the early 70’s and worked in New York City; his wife and children followed him shortly. The family moved to Houston and established their roots here.
Lou was a dedicated family man, kind hearted, very warm and friendly, hardworking, and yet simple. He was actively involved in church organizations; an excellent dancer, he also loved fishing, gardening, and was a big sports enthusiast. You could say that he was the “most devout Houston sports fan you could meet”! He opened his home to family and friends, even to strangers in need of help to get their lives started in a new city.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Catalina, daughter Gina and her husband Joey, sons Abner, Raymond and his wife Cheryl, Jeffrey and his wife Sylvia. Grandchildren Matthew, Julian, Emily, Allison, and Lawrence, and great-granddaughter Brooklyn.
He was preceded in death by his parents Alejo and Segunda, brother Enrique, and sister Salud.
