Mary Ibarra

Mary Ibarra – 105 years old of Houston, Texas passed away on Good Friday, March 29, 2024. Our dear mother, Mary Ibarra, at 105 years of age, left this earth to be with her parents, Melchor and Carlotta Mata, her 5 brothers, Rudy, Joe, John, Angelo and Jr, and her two sisters, Margie and Annie.

She is survived by her children, Diana Rodriguez (Thomas), Richard Ibarra, Sonia Escobedo (Michael), grandchildren; Tommy Rodriguez, Christopher Rodriguez (Morgan), Michael J Escobedo Jr, Samantha Escobedo Riehl (Brandon), Michelle Escobedo Santellana, great grandchildren; Xavier Santellana, Naomi Santellana Layton (Michael), Sophia Hernandez, Raymond Escobedo (Sam), Alyssa Escobedo, Gianna Riehl, Brandon Riehl and great great grandchildren, Elijah Santellana, Greyson Eckel, Bela Gonzales along with numerous nieces and nephews

She took joy in playing the piano. She was an excellent pianist and was a student at the conservatory of music in Mexico. All who heard her found her music most beautiful. She was the director of a women's senior folklorico dance group performing at various locations around the city. She loved gardening, traveling, talking and catching up with her friends and was an excellent cook.

The family wishes to thank all the family members, nurses and doctors who cared for Mary and who helped out in many ways. She was truly blessed to have such amazing people in her life.

Though our hearts are filled with sadness we find comfort knowing she is at peace and having a wonderful reunion with her loved ones in heaven.

A visitation for Mary will be held Wednesday, April 10, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Funeraria Del Angel Crespo, 2516 Navigation Blvd, Houston, Texas 77003. A rosary service will occur Wednesday, April 10, 2024 at 7:00 PM, 2516 Navigation Blvd, Houston, Texas 77003. A funeral mass will occur Thursday, April 11, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Co-Cathedral of the Sacred Heart, 1111 St Joseph Pkwy, Houston, TX 77002.
