Patsy Ann Woodroof, 90, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, passed away peacefully on October 26, 2021. She was born in rural McCune, KS on June 26, 1931 to Elsie Marie and Thomas Jesse Blackburn. She attended Parsons High School in Parsons, KS, where she met the love of her life, Bobby Joe Woodroof. They were married on September 30, 1950. Bob joined the United States Air Force in 1952 and served overseas. Then, Patsy was able to join him while he was stationed in Denver, Colorado and San Antonio, Texas.
They welcomed their son Mark in Parsons, KS in 1956 before moving to Tulsa, OK where their daughter Susan was born in 1960. They lived there until 1972 when they moved to Houston, TX, and Patsy retired from her sixteen-year career at Jones and Laughlin Steel. She enjoyed homemaking and was known for attention to details around the house and for her delicious homemade noodles and desserts. She was a wonderful baker; no one could make a pie better than her. She also loved line dancing, and even became a line dancing instructor. One of her favorite things was spoiling her grandchildren.
Patsy is survived by her son, Mark Woodroof and wife Ann, her daughter Susan Etchison, her grandchildren, Matt Woodroof and wife Karla, Brett Woodroof and wife Katie, Lara Machemehl and husband J.P., Katherine Potthoff and husband Justin. She is also survived by her many great grandchildren, Porter, Conley, Holly, Hunter, Darby, Finley, Connor, Kayleigh, Fallon, her twin sister Peggy Maxwell and her many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Bobby Joe Woodroof, her parents Elsie Marie and Thomas Jesse Blackburn, her sister Henrietta Wolverton, and her wonderful son in law Ted Etchison.
The immediate family will gather for a private interment at Memorial Oaks Cemetery in Houston. In lieu of customary remembrances, her family requests with gratitude that memorial contributions in her name be directed to the charity of one’s choice.
