OBITUARY

Pete Joseph Beniretto

Pete Joseph Beniretto, passed away in his sleep of natural causes on Monday, the 4th of February 2019. He was 83 years of age. He was born in Houston, on the 4th of April 1935.

Pete is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years Rosalie A. Costa Beniretto, loving daughter Mary Jo Schindler and husband John, granddaughter Brittany Nicole Schindler all of Houston.

Pete served in the US Coast Guard for four years and was then honorably discharged. After serving in the Coast Guard he and Rosalie had a grocery on Denis Street near downtown. After selling their grocery store he went to work for HISD. Pete was employed by the HISD as their refrigeration and air conditioning specialist. When he retired from HISD he went to work for The Riley Johnson Company as their warranty rep. for Traulsen Refrigerators and Freezers for the Houston Area. Pete was a loyal member of the Sacred Heart of Little York. He played Fast Pitch Softball for many years where he was a pitcher well into his fifties. He was honored by being inducted into the Houston Softball Hall of Honor.

Family was everything to Pete and he cherished all of their special timers together. He loved to go to Galveston, Texas to fish especial with his granddaughter and all of his buddies.

Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from four o’clock in the afternoon until eight o’clock in the evening on Friday, the 8th of February, in the Jasek Chapel of Geo. H. Lewis & Sons, 1010 Bering Drive in Houston, where the recitation of the Holy Rosary for Pete is to commence at six o’clock.

Mass of Christian Burial is to be offered at twelve o’clock noon on Saturday, the 9th of February, at St. Michael The Archangel Catholic Church 1801 Sage Road in Houston.

Those honored to serve as casket bearers during Saturday’s service are Michael Dichara, Jeff Piggott, Joe Dichara, Michael Montalbano, Billy Ray Corbin, and Vincent Pena. Honorary pallbearers are Nuncio Martino, Joe Pat Corbin, Joe Colonnetta and Leon Miller.

The Rite of Committal is to follow, via an escorted cortege, at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery in Houston.
