Voy Ernest Althaus, Jr., “Ernie”, passed away on February 15, 2021 at the age of 69. He had been battling Parkinson’s Disease and Chronic Kidney Disease for a number of years.

Ernie had a wonderful sense of humor, sense of fun, and sense of adventure. He very much enjoyed the outdoors. He was active in scouting during his childhood and participated in scouting with his son Paul. Ernie loved to hike, run, cycle, camp, and explore. He enjoyed the theater. He attended St. Luke’s United Methodist Church in Houston for many years and met his wife Patti there. Ernie was social, had a bright and curious mind, and was always keen to learn new things.

To all Ernie’s family,
Laurie was thinking of Ernie today. We remember our time at Westchester so fondly, and Ernie was a great friend and part of that time. I was checking email and saw the Westchester alumni notice about his passing. It was so difficult to believe. I know you are all so saddened by the loss of an important part of your family. We would like to extend our condolences and concern to you all.
