Robert A Gerhart

Gerhart, Robert A., 79, of Bayonet Point Florida, passed away December 22, 2011. The son of the late Dewey and Lora (Norton) Gerhart was born in Lawrenceville, Illinois on March 2, 1932. Bob moved to Reed City as a youth and graduated from Reed City High School in 1951. His sports were Football and Track. Bob served at K-13 Korea in the U.S. Air Force, 35th Fighter Bomber Squadron. Bob took E.I. Dupont 15 tear retirement in 1972. He retired From Amoco Production Company in 1992, Longview, Texas. Bob and his wife Mary(Lorenz) moved from Texas to Florida in 1997. Surviving are his wife Mary; his son Gregory of Alexandria, Louisiana; daughter Karen Majerczak and husband Jim of Beaufort, South Carolina: and daughter Sharon Underhill of Escondido, California; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brother Gene Gerhart of Lake Charles, Louisiana; brother Dan and wife Noreen Gerhart of Farwell, Michigan; and sister Bernice Linton of Midland, Michigan. Bob was preceded in death by his brothers Dewey Gerhart and John Gerhart; and sisters Rosalie Green, Ida Dewitt, and Linda Clothier. Bob attended Silver City New Mexico Teachers College while in the service and attended Muskegon Business College while employed by E.I. DuPont. Bob was a 30 year Elks Member, lifetime member of the VFW, also a member of the American Legion. Memorials may be offered to HPH Hospice of New Port Richey.
