

It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Christi Ann Broadbent on December 19, 2024, at the age of 56. Born on July 31, 1968, Christi was known for her fierce devotion to family, unwavering tenacity, and an enduring love of rock and roll. She touched countless lives with her kindness and generosity, and she will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved her.
Christi is survived by her parents, Larry New and Delores MacNamara; her husband, Richard Broadbent; her sister, Sirena New; her daughters, Tabitha and Shawna Faulkner; her nephew and nieces, Jeremy and Heather Dean and Erika Steffens; and her three grandchildren. She was preceded in passing by another beloved grandchild, whose memory she carried close to her heart.
Christi’s life was defined by her passion for family, gardening, and caring for animals. She held a unique worldview and showed unwavering loyalty, standing firmly by those she loved. Even in the hardest times, she refused to give up, offering strength and solace to anyone who needed a compassionate ear. She was a follower of Jesus Christ and a non-denominational Christian.
A gifted musician, Christi played electric guitar, sharing her love of music wherever she went. She also had an enduring passion for mathematics, taking college courses while balancing life as a single mother, caring for her grandmother, and working three jobs to support her family. No obstacle ever stood in her way for long, and her incredible determination remains an inspiration to everyone whose life she touched.

A visitation will be held on Monday, january 6, 2024 from 4-8pm at Lakewood Funeral Home Heritage chapel. A graveside service will take place the following day at Lakewood Memorial park at 12pm.
