McKinley Bowie Sr.

McKinley Bowie, Sr., 81, passed away peacefully at his home on February 7, 2020.

He was one of eleven children born in Franklin, Louisiana to the late Gus and Bertha Bowie. McKinley was preceded in rest by four sisters, Della Washington, Drucella Bowie, Geraldine Bowie, Barbara Washington and five brothers, Clarance Beourgeios, Elton Bowie, Gus Bowie Jr, Ivory Bowie Sr., Rosevelt Bowie.

As a very young man, McKinley moved to Texas and upheld a strong work ethic to build a stable career in the plumbing industry. After more than 44 years of service, he retired from Humphrey Plumbing Company. He was a devoted member of The New Testament Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Tillman. McKinley loved life and had a firm understanding of what was important - living a life with those you love. He touched the lives of many people with his warm conversation and words of wisdom. McKinley was a generous and kind hearted man that would go above and beyond to help others.

This loving and caring man has left a permanent mark on our hearts and will be greatly missed by: his sister Jane Bowie; four sons (wives), Mac (Danielle), McKinzie (Lanitra), McStimey (Jakia), McKinley Jr. (Kia); grandchildren, Lil Mac, Macdavious ,Mac Oniel, Matophas Jr., Talana, Raznie, McKinzie D., McBrice, McKinzie W., McStimey Jr., Kenneth, Lil Vondie, Myles, Zareion, Dawson, Credence, McKamri, McKaylon, Ariana; extended family Joan and Lester; childhood friend Mr. Warren and not to forget who McKinley called his adopted son, Mike Cox; adopted nephews, Winfred Seawood, Brody Dyers, Kenneth Sumlin; along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
