Maliyekalparambil C. Chacko, affectionately known as Johnykutty, was born on May 31, 1947 in Ranni, Kerala, India as the sixth child of the late Varkey and Annamma Chacko of the Maliyekalparambil family. Blessed with four brothers and three sisters, Johnykutty was known for his jovial nature and his love of God.
During his young adulthood, he owned a successful business in India and immigrated to the United States in 1999 with his wife and children. While in the U.S., he worked at Cardone Industries for fourteen years, after which he enjoyed retired life with his family and friends. Johnykutty was a loving husband and a dedicated father who filled his home with love and laughter.
Johnykutty was an active member and integral part of Christos Mar Thoma Church and his faith in the Lord was strong and unshakable. He was also a member of the PAMPA association. He was a strong pillar in the church and community that can never be replaced. His generous spirit and warm smile inspired others and will be greatly missed.
Johnykutty is survived by his wife of forty-two years, Mariamma Chacko, his daughters Sheeba Varughese and Sheeja Chacko, his son Shaibu Chacko, his son-in-law Anup Varughese, his daughter-in-law Jossy George, and his grandson Adon Varughese.
On July 25, 2018, Johnykutty underwent cardiac bypass surgery at Temple University Hospital. The journey was very difficult, but his faith and gracious demeanor never wavered. Johnykutty went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 2, 2018 with his loved ones by his side.
Johnykutty was a cherished and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. His loss will be profoundly felt by everyone who ever had the privilege of knowing him.
