Nancy Quinn Marcolina (Kenney), age 88, of Harleysville, PA, passed away on December 1, 2019. After living with her daughter and son in law, Lynda and Jack O’Neill, she moved to Gwynedd Healthcare in North Wales, PA for four years. She easily made friends with residents and staff, enjoying the activities & entertainment. She was well-known as “Fancy Nancy”. Her family is grateful to the entire staff for their excellent care and support.
Nancy was the wife of the late Felix “Phil” Marcolina. Their marriage was filled with family, friends, laughter and love. Both were active members of Christ Lutheran Church in Oreland, PA. Nancy taught preschool and Sunday school, was a choir member and council leader. She made many lifelong friends at church and while living in the Fort Washington area. In retirement, they moved from Ambler, PA to Sarasota, FL and also maintained a seasonal home in Marmora, NJ. All were welcomed in their homes and great memories were made by all.
Nancy cultivated her love of the sea while in Sarasota through volunteer work at Mote Marine. She helped guide tours, worked in the gift shop and volunteered at community events. Her passion was the sea turtles. Each year she spent endless hours walking the beaches, monitoring the nests of sea turtles. She loved shelling on Sanibel Island, and sightseeing on the west coast of Florida, giving her many artistic opportunities to photograph and sketch. Nancy also brought her high energy and love of entertaining, arts and crafts, music and movies to several long term care facilities as an activities coordinator. She “retired” Sarasota Bay Club in 2010.
In 1971, Nancy began a career with PNC bank as a teller at the Upper Dublin branch. She was quickly promoted to head teller and “floated” to branches in the five county area. Her wit and good humor, as well as dedication to the customers and co-workers, brought her much success. Later, Nancy was promoted to Teller Trainer, working at the Broad & Market, Philadelphia location. She was identified as an organized and detailed leader, and also worked with the development of the ATM transaction programs.
Nancy loved her family and friends deeply. She was predeceased by her former husbands: Felix Marcolina, Joseph Quinn and William Wachmer, her parents, Lydia and John Kenney, her sisters, Doris (Matlack) and Patricia (Gilbert) and brother, John Kenney. She is survived by her son, William Wachmer Jr and her devoted daughter, Lynda Jo O’Neill and husband, Jack, stepchildren: Karen Doman (Quinn) and Kathy Quinn, Wayne, Lynn and Drew Marcolina. She is also survived by many beloved nephews and nieces, including Tammy Seidick “her favorite”, along with many grandchildren.
