Betty A. (Dannenberger) Amato, 85 of Huntington passed away at 4:03 p.m. on Wednesday, October 24, 2012 at her granddaughter’s home. Betty was a 1944 graduate of Bowling Green High School in Bowling Green, Ohio. She was a 1946 graduate of Bowling Green College. She was a member of the New Hope United Brethren Church. She had worked for many years at Square D Corporation, retiring in 1990.
Betty was born on September 1, 1927 in North Baltimore, Ohio, a daughter of Harley Earl and Millie Rosina (Laytart) Dannenberger.
Survivors include a son: David G. (Renee) Dishong of Bryan, OH; a daughter: Barbara (Dennis) Butler of Bluffton; a sister: Ruth Sakel of Perrysburg, OH; a son-in-law: Michael Bechtel, Sr. of Huntington; ten grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter: Arlene Bechtel; brother: Raymond Dannenberger; a sister: Martha Lampley and a great granddaughter: Ariel Boyd.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 28, 2012 from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, Indiana.
Funeral service will be held on Monday, October, 29, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the New Hope United Brethren Church, 2001 Engle Street, Huntington with Pastor Ray Seilhamer officiating.
Interment will be at the Mt. Hope Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made out to New Hope United Brethren Church or to Parkview Huntington Home Healthcare and Hospice both in care of Myers Funeral Home, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, IN 46750.
