Bonita B. Broom, 86 of Huntington passed away at 2:20 pm on Thursday, October 11, 2018 at Tipton Place. Bonita was a 1949 graduate of Clear Creek High School. She was a homemaker and was a member of Clear Creek Church. She enjoyed quilting, going to the lake and her family. Her family was her whole life.
Bonita was born on November 18, 1931 in Huntington, the daughter of Walter and Rosa (Helvie) Baker.
She was united in marriage to James H. Broom on April 19, 1952 in Huntington. He preceded her in death on February 15, 1985.
Survivors include a son: Mike (Laura) Broom of Huntington; a daughter: Ann (David) Wasmuth of Huntington; five grandchildren: Jared (Barbara) Broom of Bethel, OH; Kimberly (Neil) Teusch of Huntington; Cheri (Andrew) Geiger of Huntington; Brettani (Timothy) Farthing of Huntington; Brecklyn (Sean) Trent of Anderson; ten great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother: Max Baker and a sister: Patricia Rittenhouse.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 14, 2018 from 2:00 pm – 7:00 pm at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, Indiana.
Funeral service will be held on Monday, October 15, 2018 at 11:00 am with one hour of visitation prior to the service at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel with Pastor Lionel Brubaker officiating.
Interment will be at the Clear Creek Cemetery in Huntington County.
