Polly Akers Madden

August 17, 1950 – August 5, 2014

Polly Akers Madden, 63, passed away on Tuesday morning at Huntsville Hospital. Ms. Madden was a retired NASA employee at Marshall Space Flight Center. During her 30 years at NASA, she received the honorable Silver Snoopy Award for her contributions as an Administrative Assistant, and many other awards including Employee of the Year for her division. She was proud of her tenure at NASA and always spoke highly of her co-workers.

Ms. Madden was the daughter of Col. Everett Madden (Ret.) and Rachael Madden, and traveled overseas and through many different states in her childhood. She had been a resident of the Huntsville area since 1976.

Ms. Madden is survived by her daughter Rachael Towle and her husband Tim of Hazel Green, AL; two sisters, Nancy Luna of Huntsville and Ruth Blackwell of Hazel Green; three brothers, Barrie Madden of Huntsville, Michael Madden of Hawaii and Everett Madden of VA; three grandchildren; and several nieces , nephews and cousins.
