Edmund "Ed" Medeiros
September 3, 1930 – November 4, 2019
Edmund Medeiros, 89, of Barnstable, passed away peacefully on November 4, 2019. Born and raised in Fall River, Ed entered the Navy directly after graduation from High School. He would go on to work for the Federal Aviation Administration, repairing aviation guide and warning lights across Cape Cod. It was on the Cape where he met the love of his life, Eleanor (Peacock), 40 years ago.
During their 25 years of marriage, Ed and Eleanor shared a love of travel, music and reading. Ed and Eleanor would enjoy long road trips, particularly motorcar touring, eventually purchasing a winter home in Green Valley, AZ where the couple could escape New England winters; they would sell this getaway once their grandchildren arrived on Cape Cod. Ed and Eleanor loved symphonic music, taking in concerts during the summer months at Great Woods and in Boston. Above all else, Ed and Eleanor had a thirst for knowledge, sharing a love of reading. Ed had a reputation for knowing something about almost every subject, and could share this knowledge with others. Bowling and golf were also two of Ed’s favorite pastimes.
Predeceased by Eleanor (2007) and two stepsons Wayne and David, Ed is survived by his stepsons Robert Morrison of West Yarmouth and Craig Morrison of Sydney, ME and four grandsons, Tyler, Jason, Justin and Robin Morrison. Edmund will be laid to rest next to his beloved wife on Saturday, November 9, 1 pm at Crocker Park Cemetery in West Barnstable.
