

Anna Louise Lamb Hebenstreit passed away peacefully on December 18, 2017 at the age of 94. She was born in Indianapolis, Indiana, on July 20, 1923 to the late Harry F. and Ethel (Kirkhoff) Lamb. She was the oldest of 3 children and is survived by her brother Harry Lamb. She was preceded in death by her husband of 33 years, William P. (Bill) Hebenstreit, her sister Mary Nelson, and her son Robert Francis.
She will be greatly missed by her children: James (Nan) Hebenstreit, John David (Paula) Hebenstreit, Stephen Hebenstreit, and Ann Marie (Scott) Leithauser, as well as many grand-children and great-grand-children. She is also survived by dear friend Mary Ann Pappas.
She attended Little Flower School in Indianapolis, and was a graduate of St. Mary Academy. She was a homemaker for many years before becoming a teacher’s aide and working at the Cathedral and Chatard high school libraries. She was an active volunteer at both Holy Spirit and St. Andrew church and schools. For many years, she and her group of close friends and cousins bowled, golfed, played cards, travelled, and dined together. She was a wonderful writer and loved life, never giving in to old age. She was a devoted Catholic and looked forward to seeing her beloved Bill again in Heaven one day.
Visitation will be 10:00 am to 11:00 am Saturday, December 23, at St. Andrew the Apostle Church, 4052 E 38th St., Indianapolis, Indiana 46218. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 am Saturday at the church. Inurnment will take place at a later date at Calvary Cemetery in Indianapolis, Indiana.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Andrew the Apostle Church.
