Dorothy R. Burnside of Indianapolis, formerly of Evansville, IN died on December 25, 2018 in Grand Rapids, MI. She was a member of Northminster Presbyterian Church and a former deaconess. She was a Past-President of the Children's Bureau Auxiliary as well as active in Girl Scouts and a member of the Indianapolis Jazz Club. She was the first lobbyist in the Indiana State Legislature for the mentally handicapped and active for many years in the Association for Retarded Citizens.
Survivors include daughter, Jane B. Hunt of Grand Rapids, MI and son, Robert C. Burnside of Dexter MI, four grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Contributions may be made to Northminster Presbyterian Church, Arc of Indiana or to the charity of your choice.
Visitation will be held from 10-11am with funeral service immediately following at Northminster Presbyterian Church, 1600 Kessler Boulevard East Dr. Indianapolis, IN 46220 on Monday, January 7, 2019
