Mr. Carl Hollister Holcomb

Carl H. Holcomb, 79 of Indianapolis, IN passed away at Community North Heart and Vascular Hospital on Wednesday March 25, 2015. He was born on January 11, 1936 in Elkhart, IN. The son of Bernice Kendley and Richard Holcomb. Carl lived most of his life in Indianapolis, Indiana. He graduated high school in the army and was a helicopter pilot and chef for 24 years. He retired from the United States Army in 1980. Carl married Marlene Holcomb in Westfield, Indiana on June 26, 1993. He was preceded in death by his parents Bernice and Richard Holcomb, sister; Winiford Davenport, brother; Ralph Holcomb, and his step son Edward Blanton. Carl is survived by his wife Marlene (Eads) Holcomb, daughter Bernice Scott of Indianapolis, IN, three stepdaughters Kimberly M. (Richard) Wheatley-Muns, Tammie (Karl) Reynolds both of Indianapolis, and Debra (Barry) Petty of Kentucky. Carl is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. Carl was a member of the VFW 1120 Post of Indianapolis, IN. Carl was a grandpa to many and will be missed very dearly.
