Mrs. Ellen Eleazor Lowman

COLUMBIA Funeral service for Ellen Eleazer Lowman, 90, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 14, 2016, at Ascension Lutheran Church, with burial in Bethel Lutheran Cemetery in White Rock. The family will receive friends from 4 until 6:00 p.m. Saturday, February 13, 2016 at Dunbar Funeral Home, Dutch Fork Chapel. Ms. Lowman died Wednesday, February 10, 2016. Born in Columbia, she was a daughter of the late David F. Eleazer and Lucile Long Eleazer. Mrs. Lowman was a Columbia High School graduate who then worked for the Weather Bureau and after marriage became a homemaker. She was active with the Lutheran women’s association and with them made frequent visitations to the Lowman Home. As an avid gardener, she won ribbons for her flowers at the SC State Fair. She loved flowers, birds and gardens. Ms. Lowman was a lifelong member of Ascension Lutheran Church. Surviving are her son, Don. D. Lowman (Jan R.); daughter, Catherine Lowman Wessinger (Kenneth Richards); grandchildren, Lauren. E. Lowman, Grayson L. Lowman and Clinton David Wessinger. She was predeceased by her husband, Bryson L. Lowman and sister, Rae Eleazer. Memorials may be made to Ascension Lutheran Church, 827 Wildwood Avenue, Columbia, SC 29203.
