Kristy Shuler Shealy, 46, passed away on October 5th. A daughter of James and Barbara Shuler, Kristy was born in Charleston, SC on May 2nd, 1972. A visitation will be held Monday, October 8th, from 6pm to 8pm, at Dunbar Funeral Home, Dutch Fork Chapel. A funeral service will be Tuesday, October 9th, at 1pm at Dunbar Funeral Home with an interment to follow in the Dutch Fork Baptist Church Cemetery.

She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Alfred and Mavel Ford, Robert and Martha Edwards, and Linn Shuler; brothers, John and James Shuler; sisters, Kayla and Jennifer Shuler; father in law, Bobby Lockaby; and brother in law, Rocky Cox Lockaby.

In addition to her parents, Kristy is survived by her beloved husband of 28 years, Tim Shealy Jr.; daughters, Shelby Shealy and Ashleigh Reeves; son, Tim Mishou; siblings, Teresa Shuler, Debra Shuler-Blakely, and Bridgette Shuler; mother in law, Iris Lockaby; sister in law, Angela Shealy; brother in laws, Ron Lockaby, Jon Lockaby, and Randy Shealy; nieces, Cheyenne Shuler and Lynn Nix; nephew, Ryan Shuler; great nephew, CJ Owens; grandchildren, Bella Mishou, and Ethan Mishou; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Kristy was a fireball filled with so much spunk and zest for life. She never met a stranger and all who met her loved her instantly. She would light up a room with that gorgeous smile and sassy sway. She had a love for the water whether it was the lake or the beach. Give her a chair and a beer and she was a happy girl. Kristy was an amazing mother to two beautiful daughters, a loving wife to a man that loved her more than life itself, and an amazing friend who never failed to make you feel like family. Their outings on their Harley was another passion and hobby she truly enjoyed. She said she “felt free” and would spread her arms like wings. Kristy wore many hats. She helped run her husband's business along with managing her daughter’s music career. She started her own company Steel Magnolia Management, a social media/artist management company. Kristy was an extremely active advocate and very passionate about the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Putting together fundraisers such as a chili cook off that is running 6 years strong and still going. Kristy gave it her all and did everything with 150% and at 200 MPH. She was a knockout, beautiful, brilliant bombshell. Kristy has left a hole in all of our hearts and she will be extremely missed but I think it’s safe to say that she has left her mark on this world. Take a bow “Wonder Woman”, you’ve earned it.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 1122 Lady Street, Suite 640 Columbia, SC 29201.

Wow. This is awful and very saddening news. I am stunned and shocked and really at a loss for words. I’m not on social media much so I only just found out. Tim – I am so sorry for your loss man. You two made a great couple and were both great together and great for each other. I’ve known Kristy since we were probably 14 years old and she was an amazing, wonderful, and beautiful person with a truly great attitude in life. She will be very much missed by any and all who knew her. My deepest sympathies and condolences to Tim and her children as well as her parents and other family.

I am finding it hard to say the right words. Kristy was such an awesome young lady. I remember sitting on blankets in our front yard with her mom, sisters and our Kristie before our house was built. She was a beautiful young lady and very special to all who knew her. Praying for comfort for all of you in the coming months.
