Mary May Hargrove -

Of Jackson MI, passed away on April 8, 2019 at the age of 85. Mary was born on May 26, 1933 to parents Amiel and Lora Heinz. Mary married the love of her life, Edgar Hargrove on April 6, 1957 in Angola, Indiana. She worked for Mercy/Foote Hospital as a housekeeper. She also was a stay at home mom and loved taking care of her family and the neighborhood kids. Mary loved cooking, helping her children as a “Little Sous Chef “. She attended First Church of the Nazarene for 20 years, where she enjoyed the sermons, especially the “Beautiful Surrender" as she prepared herself and her family for her homegoing. Mary is survived by her children, Cindy Davisson, Christine (Vanessa) Harman, Ed (Karen) Hargrove, Laurie Hargrove, and Gerald Hargrove; five grandchildren, two great grandchildren; and siblings, Hilda McCollum, Norma Honaker and special sister-in-law, Betty Heinz. The Hargrove family would like to thank special care giver Chris Kellogg and the nurses and staff from the Henry Ford Allegiance Hospital 7th floor north west for all the wonderful care that was given to your mom during her stay. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Edgar and several brothers and sisters. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 11, 2019 at 11:00 am with visitation from 10:00 am until time of service at First Church of The Nazarene (3905 Clinton Rd M-50 Jackson MI 49201) family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 10, 2019 from 4:00-7:00 pm at the church. Mary will be laid to rest next to her husband at Roseland Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to First Church of the Nazarene.
