Of Jackson, passed away peacefully Wednesday, December 10, 2014 after fighting through a long debilitating illness. Mary Jo was in the loving care of Hospice and had her son at her side at the time of her passing. Mary Jo is survived by her son, Art; daughter in-law, Carrie; and four grandchildren: Dillian, Sydney, Reagan, and Ivy; three sisters: Sandy, Linda, and Sharon, and one brother, Buck. She was preceded in death by her husband of 29 years, Charlie Sizemore and her daughter, Angel. Mary Jo was born in Jackson to Shirley and Wesley Keyes and was the youngest of five children. She attended Jackson High School and spent her life caring for others. First, as a caregiver to the elderly and adults with disabilities. From there she moved on to manage a local nursing home before ending her career as a hospice caregiver. Mary Jo lived her life to the fullest. She was an independent woman who enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family. She had many great adventures in her life from traveling across the United States to visiting countries all throughout Europe. She especially enjoyed spending time with her four grandchildren and her sister Sandy. In respect to her wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service in her honor will be held at the funeral home on Monday, December 15, 2014 at 3:00 P.M. Mary Jo will be interred with her husband at Fort Custer National Cemetery.
