Gregory D. Demrow
August 1, 1954 – January 18, 2020
In Loving Remembrance
Gregory (Greg) D. Demrow, 65, of Clinton went to be with his Heavenly Father on Saturday, January 18, 2020 with family by his side. Greg was born on August 1, 1954 in Topeka, Kansas, to Robert C. and Elizabeth E. (Armishaw) Demrow. On February 16, 1974, he married Glenda Ann Holland in Jackson, MS. He attended French Elementary, Provine High School and Jackson State University where he was on the JSU Golf Team. As a teenager, he worked at Jitney Jungle at Westland Plaza before beginning his career in pest control at Terminix. He later became owner and operator of his own pest control business, Nova Pest Control (formally known as G&D Pest Control). Greg was an avid golfer who won many tournaments throughout the Jackson and surrounding areas and was fondly referred to as “Dump” by many of his golfing buddies throughout the years.
Anyone who knew Greg knew he was an advocate for all of God’s creatures, great or small. He rescued many animals from baby woodpeckers to rats (yes “rats”), bobcats, dogs, cats, etc. Many he kept and raised; many he gave to friends and family. No animal was ever turned away. He leaves behind his favorite dogs: Bella, Boots, and Lola (his constant companion) and his favorite cats: Charlie, Savannah, Yoda, Izzie, Spaz, Danne, and Squirt. Greg is survived by his beloved wife of 45 years, Ann Demrow of Clinton; son, Ronald (Ron) M. Demrow of Byram; granddaughters, Lacey and Stacey Demrow of Clinton; sister, Elizabeth (Beth) A. Shelton of Brandon; nieces, Candice Shelton of Richland, and Alison Auttonberry of Madison; cousins, Phillip McDade of Madison; Leslie Armishaw of Memphis, TN , and James (Chip) F. Armishaw Jr. of Lexington, KY.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2020 at Lakewood Funeral Home, 6000 Clinton Boulevard, Jackson, MS 39209 from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm with a short Memorial Service in the chapel at 1:00 pm. The service will be presided over by Rev. Neel Grantham, and music will be provided by Mr. Richard Davis.
