Ida “Ruth” Summerlin, 81, with her family by her side, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 6th 2019.

She is survived by her children, Mike Summerlin (Barbara), Jan Smith, and Todd Summerlin; 6 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; a sister, Emma Ainsworth and 2 brothers, Bill Ainsworth and Rudy Ainsworth.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, James R. “Red” Summerlin in 2000.

She was a devoted wife, a loving and caring mother, grandmother and sister.

She will be forever in our hearts and greatly missed until we meet again.

Visitation will be held at Lakewood Memorial Funeral Home in Jackson, MS on Friday, February 8 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. The celebration of her life will take place in the funeral home chapel on Saturday at 2:00 PM with visitation one hour prior. Interment will follow at Lakewood Memorial Park.
