George David Nerren

George David Nerren, age 89 of Jackson, passed away on Friday, June 12, 2020 at his home in Jackson.

George was born April 12, 1931 in Bemis, the son of the late E.N. Nerren and Golden Ivy Sanders Nerren. He attended school in Bemis and graduated from J.B. Young High School in 1949. He joined the U.S. Air Force in 1949 and served honorably for over 20 years, stationed in many parts of the world, retiring in 1969 with the rank of Master Sergeant. Mr. Nerren received many honors and decorations while in the U.S. Air Force. He was employed in the computer department at Jackson Rockwell Plant for 10 years and later was self employed. He was retired at the time of his death.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Grace Elena Richardson Nerren; his daughter, Patricia Leann Nerren Combs; his parents, E.N. and Golden Sanders Nerren; two brothers, James Nelson Nerren and Howard K. Nerren;and two sisters, Gertrude Nerren Robertson and Marie James Mitchell of Jackson.

He is survived by his son, Michael David Nerren of Jacksonville, FL and daughter, Pamela Joann Nerren Kindrick (Jeff) of Jackson; six grandchildren, Katherine Garcia (Kyle), Matthew Wicker (Stephanie), Aaron Combs, Heather Combs, Josh Garrett (Shelby) and Halley Stegall; six great grandchildren, Grace, Braxton, Isaiah, Isaac, Kendall, and Carrie; two brothers, Benjamin Nerren of Shelbyville, TN and Billy Nerren of Huntsville, AL; and one sister, Olga Nerren Fish of Memphis, TN.

Casketbearers will be Josh Garrett, Matthew Wicker, Kyle Garcia, Taylor Kindrick, Jeff Kindrick, and Don Robertson.

The family will receive friends and loved ones on Tuesday, June 16, 2020 from 10-11 a.m. at the North Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons with funeral services to follow at 11 a.m. Burial will follow with military honors in Highland Memorial Gardens
