OBITUARY

John Edwin Carlock

John Edwin Carlock, age 84, passed away in Jackson, Tennessee on February 25, 20...11 of natural causes. John was born May 11, 1926 in Soddy Daisy, Tennessee to Thomas and Marie Carlock. While working at Chattanooga Glass Company, he met Inez Schmitt whom he married on November 18, 1949. In 1961, John and Inez left Chattanooga and moved with their two daughters, Beth and Nan to Corsicana, Texas. In Corsicana, John continued to work for Chattanooga Glass Company until his retirement. After retirement, John and Inez moved back to their native Tennessee and settled in Jackson. John is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Inez Schmitt Carlock; daughter, Beth Baddour and her husband Dr. Harry M. Baddour of Jackson, Tennessee; daughter, Nan Bishop of Dallas, Texas; grandsons, Sam Baddour of Jackson, Dr. Michael Baddour and his wife Katie of Atlanta, Georgia. He is also survived by his sisters, Helen Hunt, Pat Henderson and her husband Clarence all of Marietta, Georgia. He is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Marie Carlock; sister, Martha Evatt; son, John Edwin Carlock Jr. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and will be greatly missed. The family is eternally grateful for the loving care provided by Dr. Wayne Rhear and the staff at Bells Nursing Home. The funeral service will take place 12 noon, Monday, February 28, 2011 at George A. Smith and Sons North Chapel. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. til 12 noon before the service. Entombment will take place at the Highland Memorial Gardens Mausoleum following the services. Memorials may be made to St. Mary’s Church or St. Mary’s School in Jackson, TN. George A. Beth, I just heard the news about Mr. John. I am so sorry to hear about his passing. I was hoping he would some how get better.
