We were shocked and saddened to learn of Bruce's passing. We greatly admired him personally and professionally. He was truly one of a kind.

Carol, Deb and I are so sorry to hear that Bruce passed. We enjoyed our times with the both of you and will sorely miss him. He was a wonderful man, father, husband and co-worker.

Shortly after being sworn in as an AUSA in November 2002, I was assigned to work with Bruce, who then served in the SSA OIG.  I always loved working with Bruce because we had very similar personalities.  Bruce taught me so much and made me a far better prosecutor than I ever could have become if I had never been assigned to work with him.  While working together, I learned that Bruce provided a lifetime of public service to the citizens of this country.  During one of our adventures, Bruce gave me a number of hats and a set of cufflinks, all of which are very special to me because Bruce gave them to me.

In addition to being a great law enforcement officer, Bruce was a great man.  While struggling with my own personal tragedy, Bruce shared many thoughts and experiences from his own life.  In sum, Bruce used his life experiences to help guide me in my time of need. 

As Shakespeare wrote, "He was a man.  Take him for all in all.  I shall not look upon his like again."

Carol, I am deeply saddened by the passing of Bruce. He and I had many memorable moments in Detroit.

Words can not express my sadness upon hearing that my life long friend has passed. From the time we were partners in the FDLE and throughout our careers in the Secret Service, we remained close friends. Time and retirement has allowed our paths to part but my thoughts have always been with you and your family. May you rest now with your daughter and be comforted by the Lord.
