John L. Georgas of Ponte Vedra Bch., FL died peacefully in his home, Tuesday, July 2, 2013. John was born in Minneapolis Minnesota to Louis John Georgas of Greece and Mary White of Winnipeg Canada. He was preceded by his wife La Rue Mershon and his second wife Betty Wylde. He attended Carleton College, The University of Minnesota, Northwestern University and served in the Navy during WW II. John is survived by his three children Lynne Anderson of Lincolnshire, IL, Patricia Thames of Ponte Vedra Bch., FL, and Geoffrey Georgas of Lake Forest, IL, his 5 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

John was a very giving, remarkable man, one who lived life to the fullest. A man of determination, strength of character, a good friend to many, and a trusted advisor. John lived life on his own terms, all the way to the end. He will be remembered for his generosity to the Arts and the underprivileged. Through charity he believed he could help to make this world a better place. His never ending spirit and fortitude will be a guide for all of those who had the privilege of knowing him.

A private family memorial service will be held at Christ Episcopal Church of Ponte Vedra, Bch. FL on Monday, July 8, 2013.
