

Born and raised in Jacksonville, he graduated from Andrew Jackson and soon after joined the Marine Corps, serving in Vietnam attaining the rank of Sargent.
Following his military service, he worked at various jobs and in later years worked on his family tree farm. Known to many as “Corky” he had a great passion for rescuing homeless dogs and cats often doing without to give them life.
Survivors include his loving wife of 29 yrs., Patricia; son, Darrell (Noelle) Strange; step-son, Justin (Emily) Sorenson; brother, Larry H. Strange; sisters, Vicki (Eddie) Rodgers and Sally Carleen Allen; his grandchildren; and a number of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family will receive friends on Sunday Jan. 4, from 5-7 pm in the EDGEWOOD CHAPEL of Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home, 729 South Edgewood Ave. Graveside
Funeral service with military honors will be held 11:30 am Mon. Jan. 5, in the Jacksonville National Cemetery.
