David Gann passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 6, 2021, with his wife, daughters, and grandchildren by his side. He was born January 27, 1954 in Fairfax, Missouri to Dewey Edmond Gann and Emma Pauline (Upton) Gann.
David served twenty five years of honorable and exemplary service in the United States Navy, twelve enlisted, and thirteen as an officer. After he retired, he worked on the Caterpillar Diesel Engine installations on the FFG's for NAVSES.
David was predeceased by both of his parents, his brother Johnny, and his sister Carolyn. David is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Sara Greene Gann, as well as his brother Jerry Gann, and his sisters Sharon Grisham and Emma Robinson. He also leaves to cherish his memory, his daughters Jennifer Charipar (Andrew) and Catherine Gordy, grandsons Michael and Blake, and granddaughters Ayla, Becca and Miranda.
Visitation will be from 10am-12pm on Friday, May 14, 2021, followed by a graveside service at Hardage-Giddens Chapel Hills Funeral Home, 850 St Johns Bluff Rd N, Jacksonville, FL 32225.
There will be a reception at the Gann home for family and friends following the service.
