James W. Angel, age 86 passed away on March 3, 2012, after an extended illness. He was the husband of the late Althelia Love Angel and is survived by loyal friend and companion Nancy Cooper, 2 daughters Carolyn White, Melissa Angel and son Keith Angel, grandchildren Renee, Michael, James, great grandchildren, Ryan, Preston, Amber, Tiffany, and Haley, great- great grandchild Dontae, a sister Nellie Dalton of Gretnea. Va. and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Angel was a Navy Veteran of World War Two, serving aboard the USS Intrepid on its maiden voyage and into battle. Mr. Angel embarked on a career in the dry cleaning business at age 21. He worked his way up to manager before becoming a business owner. Being very successful he worked until the age of 75. Sports were a big part of his life. He enjoyed fishing, sponsored softball teams for years and was an avid Jaguars and Gator fan. He was a charter member of the MLB Insiders Club. He loved his country and it's military. He earned Honorary Life Membership in the American legion Post 137, Rod and Pole Benders of Post 137, and Life membership in the Veterans of Foreign wars. He was also a member of the Moose Lodge. Visitation will be March 7, 2012 from 6-8 P.M. at Hardage-Giddens Edgewood Chapel 729 S. Edgewood Avenue. Funeral Service Thursday March 8, 2012 at 11:00 A.M.
