Mattie Loretta Stubbs Few

Mattie Few, age 88, passed away March 13, 2017 in Saint Johns, Florida after a lengthy illness. Mattie was born in 1928 in Pope, Mississippi to Roy and Dora Stubbs.

Mattie graduated from Rosedale High School in Rosedale, Mississippi. She later resided in Greenville, Mississippi for the majority of her adult life. In 2005, Mattie retired and relocated to the Jacksonville, Florida area where she resided close to one of her three daughters (Kathy and Gene Gstohl). While living in Greenville, Mattie was employed by the Bell Telephone Company, Greenville Mills, and she was a licensed real estate agent and licensed real estate broker for many years.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Hubert T. Few, Jr., and sisters Melba Stubbs, Louis Jean Jones, Mildred McCreary, and brother Roy Stubbs, Jr.

She is survived by her 3 daughters, Brenda Gail Few & Michael Goss (The Villages, FL), Kathy Few Gstohl & Gene Gstohl (St. Augustine, FL), and Jana Few-Bradley & Mark Bradley (Southaven, Mississippi); her 2 grandchildren, Thomas Taylor Church, Jr. (Arlington, VA) and Whitney Leigh Murray (Jacksonville, FL); brothers Fred and Erwin Stubbs; sisters Sherry Russell, Camilla Slack, and Mary Alice Burton. Mattie was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Palatka, Florida.

Mattie Few will be laid to rest adjacent to her beloved husband, Hubert T. Few, Jr. and other family members in the Beulah, Mississippi Cemetery. God bless her soul and may she rest in eternal peace.
