Orison married Virginia Delgado in Cuba on January 19, 1953 and immediately set forth for the United States to build a life together with her and raise a family. With little education he worked at whatever job he could to support his wife and 2 children. When his children were still in school, he managed to complete his GED to attain a High School diploma certification. Later he became a skilled electrician and that afforded him a better means of support for his family so that his wife could continue to stay at home to oversee the management of the household. He valued his family and wanted others to have the same opportunities he had. He was instrumental in helping family members of both his and his wife’s to come to the United States so they could forge a better life. From these families came more family units that worked and flourished in the States.
Orison lovingly cared for his beloved wife, Virginia until her death in September of 2010. Now he is survived by his 2 children: his daughter, Virginia H. Colburn and her spouse; his son, Orison V. {Victor} Pelegrin; his granddaughter, Mary Elizabeth {Lisa} by his son and 2 great-grandchildren by Mary Elizabeth. Of Orison’s siblings, he has 2 surviving sisters - one in Jacksonville, FL and the other one still in Cuba. Orison’s family would like to thank the Memorial Hospital staff for their diligent care of him and kindness to the family as well as the care and guidance received from the Community Hospice nurses.
The funeral service will be held at 1:00pm on Monday, December 17, 2018 at Hardage-Giddens Chapel Hills Funeral Home, followed by entombment at Chapel Hills Memory Gardens.
