Robert Wayne Hare Sr.

Robert Wayne Hare, Sr. went to be with his precious Lord on January 27, 2017 at the young age of 65. He was born in Wilmington, NC on October 6, 1951. As a proud member of the United States Navy, he served his country for four years aboard diesel submarines with his last major command on the USS Billfish. He received an honorable discharge on May 9, 1973. Following his service he went on to receive a Bachelors in Business Administration from the University of Florida, while working 2 full time jobs and raising a family. With over 30 years of experience as a Heavy Equipment Claims Adjuster, he was a proud active member of the National Truck and Heavy Equipment Claims Council. He enjoyed Boy Scouts with both his sons and nephew; coaching Little League, Bolles Football, camping and driving!

He is survived by his best friend and wife of over 40 years, Pamela J. Hare; and two sons, Robert Wayne Hare, Jr. (Bob), and Charles Joseph Hare (Chuck). He leaves behind a large family of brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Visitation will be held from 10am-11am on Tuesday, January 31 at Hardage-Giddens Hendricks Chapel, 4115 Hendricks Avenue, followed by the funeral service at 11am on Tuesday, January 31 at Hardage-Giddens Hendricks Chapel. Interment will take place at 1:30pm on Tuesday, January 31 at Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Rd. 32218. In lieu of flowers, please send any donations to Shriner’s Hospital, St. Jude’s Childrens Research Hospital or American Cancer Society.
