John Thomas Milgrim, passed away at his home on March 30, 2024 in Gray, TN at the age of 85. He was born December 31, 1938 in Russell County, VA, to the late Ezra Darrell Milgrim and Margie White Milgrim.
John was a simple, honest man who loved being outside working in the yard, fishing with Chris, planting vegetables with Amber, and spending time with Clara. He always had a hot cup of black coffee in his hand no matter the temperature outside or where he was going. He always spoke his mind with truthfulness and honesty, sometimes brutal honesty, but it was always the truth. He will be greatly missed by those who loved him, but his love will always be remembered and the memories will never be forgotten.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his wife, Freda Gaye Hicks Milgrim; two daughters, Freda Lynn Schiepke and Pamela Sue Holfield; one son, John Anthony “Tony” Milgrim; one grandson, Ryan Anthony Milgrim; one brother, Howard Jr. Milgrim; two sisters, Ruth Bailey and Dorothy Kodak.
John leaves behind his longtime companion, Clara Jessee; one who loved him like a father, Tina King and husband Lee; two special children, Amber and Chris King.
John is also survived by two daughters, Iva “Mikki” Milgrim and Anna Ruth Wilson; four sisters; Shirley Howard, Iva Bishop, Barbara Bowerman, and Emma Louise Harris; one brother; Darrell Milgrim; and numerous grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
John had made the decision and pre-planned his own arrangements for Cremation with no Funeral Service or Burial.
