Louis Morelli, known to family and friends as Lou or Doctor Lou, passed away at the age of 75 on July 2, 2020 at Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center. Lou died peacefully surrounded by his loving family. He Lived in Stuart Florida.
He was born in Brooklyn, New York on May 1, 1945 to parents Bella and Salvatore Morelli (now deceased).
Lou is survived by his wife of thirty years, Patti Morelli, his son Patrick, daughter Cindy Silverman, son-in- law Robert Silverman, step-daughter Tara Gilday son-in-law Ryan Gilday, step-daughter Lauren Brady, son-in-law Michael Brady, brothers Ralph and Daniel. Lou was grandfather to Kelsey, Gage, Blaise, Raiden, Brennan and Blake, uncle to Salvatore Morelli, Jennifer Morelli, Catherine Cummings and Daniel Morelli, Jr.
There was a private ceremony on Sunday, July 5, 2020 at Jupiter First Church that was followed by a Celebration of Life at Grandes Restaurant. Louis will be laid to rest with full Military Honors at a date to be announced.
Lou joined the military and worked his way up to Sargent in the United States Air Force. After his military service, Lou attended NY Chiropractic College in Seneca, New York.
Lou was a Doctor of Chiropractic for almost forty years and had many patients who considered him more than a doctor, and also a dear friend. His office was a staple in neighborhoods of Brooklyn and Staten Island for many years.
A singer with an incredible voice, Lou has been compared to Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin. He entertained his friends and family at family celebrations and gatherings. An avid baseball fan, Lou loved the Brooklyn Dodgers and the New York Mets. One of the many joys of Lou’s life was coaching Patrick and his teammates.
The family requests that donations be made to the American Stroke Association in Louis’ name in lieu of flowers.
Lou often said “I’ve lived a life that’s full, I’ve traveled each and every highway, and much more than this, I did it my way”, Frank Sinatra. And he did.
