OBITUARY

Jessie Lepeka Kiaaina

December 1, 1925September 24, 2019

Jessie “Jackie” Lepeka Kiaaina, 93, passed away at home in Waimanalo, surrounded by her family on Tuesday, September 24th, 2019. She was born on December 1st, 1925 in Honolulu, Hawaii to Daniel & Lucy (Ah Sing-Kam Chee) Keliipuleole. On August 16th, 1947, she married Joseph Kiaaina Jr. and together they had 3 children. Jessie was preceded in death by her loving husband Joseph “Sonny”, daughter-in-law Linda Ann, and Great-granddaughter Joanie. She is survived by her 2 sons: Joseph III “Archie Boy” (Patti), Jeffery Sr. (Bella); 1 daughter: Joann “Alohalani” (Clayton); 5 Grandchildren: Joann “Peka” (Darrell “D”), Jamais “Jamie”, Joseph IV “Jody” (Hayley), Jeffery Jr. “Jr. Boy”, Jeremy “Bobo”; 5 great-grandchildren: Jasmine “Jazz” (Ryan), Jordyn “Muffin”, Dane (Kaleena), Dawn “Dawnie” (David), Natalia “Lippy”; 1 great-great-grandchild: Kayci; and siblings: “Sister” Marion (Theo), Donald (Delphine). Both Jessie & Joseph were followers of Nichiren Buddhism and members of Soka Gakkai International – USA. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 2nd, 2019 at 10:00 am at Hawaiian Memorial Park Chapel, 45-425 Kamehameha Hwy, Kaneohe, HI 96744. Viewing to begin at 9:00am. Burial will follow at Valley of the Temples in Kaneohe. Jessie’s granddaughter Joann would like to extend her gratitude to Ama’s caregivers “her filipine daughter & granddaughter”: Susannah & Katleen for their devoted service & loving care as well as to Jessica & Roxanne of Bristol Hospice for their continued support and compassion.
