Frances Louise Rickey

Frances Louise Rickey of Tonganoxie, Kansas passed away on Monday, May 4, 2020 at her home. She was 92 years old. A “drive-up” style visitation will take place on Saturday, May 23, 2020 from 10:00-11:00 am. Come, offer your condolences to Frances’ family, and pay final respects to Frances while following social distancing guidelines from the safety of you vehicle. Frances was born on June 12, 1927 in Platte City, Missouri to Charles and Nanny (Kitchen) Shuster. She met the love of her life, Leslie Herman Rickey, Jr., to whom she was married to for 38 wonderful years. Frances had a large heart and spent most of her free time volunteering at the local VFW. She was a member of the Rock of Ages Church in Leavenworth, Kansas along with the VFW and Eagles 55 both of Leavenworth. Her pride and joy was her family and friends. She was loved by so many and never knew a stranger and she will be dearly missed.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leslie Herman Rickey, Jr.; her parents, Charles and Nanny Shuster; her brothers, Jim, Eddy, and George; her son, Charles D. Rickey, and her granddaughter, Elizabeth Larsson.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Reba (Gary) Ohler, Vickie Bryan, Cheryl (Floyd) Nunn; daughter-in-law, Sandy Rickey; Sister-in-law, Carolina Schuster; 13 grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great-grandchildren; along with a host of other family members and friends.

Aunt Frances was always one of my idols because she was never afraid to say what was on her mind. She was always ready to take a joke or tell one. She was always fun to be around at family events. I will sorely miss her.
