Jessie L. Miller

Jessie L. Miller, 94, passed away May 10, 2018. Graveside services will be 11:00am, Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, 701 North 94th Street, Kansas City, KS 66112. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Jessie was born March 17, 1924 in Hamilton, Kansas to Arthur and Rena Smith. She graduated from Basehor High School and married the love of her life, Harold E. Miller. Jessie owned her own beauty salon, Jessie’s Beauty Salon, and also ran her own quilting business and kept the books for her husband’s construction company. She attended Maywood Community Church. Jessie enjoyed working in her flower gardens and doing embroidery; she was always busy.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harold E. Miller; her sisters, Shirley Mueller and Merle Simpson; and her brother, Oliver Smith.

Jessie is survived by her son, Larry E. Miller and his wife Jeanie and his children, Amy and Beth Ann Miller; her son, Arthur C. Miller, his daughter Misty Harlow (children, Cort and Cole), and his son, Sam Miller and his wife Tamara (children, Hannah Belle and Ava Madison Miller); her daughter, Linda L. McCall and her husband Stan; and her sister, Rosie Hansen; as well as numerous nieces and nephews to cherish her memory. Jessie was a very kind and loving mother and will be greatly missed.
