Kim Marie Sprowl, 61, of Kansas City, Kansas, passed away March 16, 2018. A visitation will be from 6:00-8:00pm, Friday, March 23rd at Chapel Hill – Butler, 701 N. 94th St., Kansas City, KS. Funeral services will be 10:00am, Saturday, March 24th at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the USD 500 Library Programs in her honor.
Kim was born October 14, 1956 in Kansas City, KS to Kenneth and Wilma Toepfer. She graduated from Wyandotte High School and attended Kansas City, Kansas Community College, Emporia State, and William Jewel. Kim achieved a Bachelor’s Degree in Education and Music, and two Master’s degrees in Education and Library Science. She married David Sprowl on June 16, 1979. Kim worked for many years for USD 500 as a librarian at both William Allen White and Bethel schools. She was very active organizing book fairs, science fairs, and assisting with the plays. Kim had a very giving and loving heart, and took care of her mother and other family members. She was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth Toepfer.
Kim is survived by her mother, Wilma Ruth Toepfer; her husband of 38 years, David Sprowl; her son, Corbin Sprowl and his fiancé Elora Jackson; her brother, David Toepfer and his wife Carol; and her niece, Amanda Tallmadge and her husband David.
