Leuntine Brown, 64, met her Lord and Savior on Thursday, August 11, 2022 surrounded by her step-daughters Angel Galic & Sophia Esteban-Green.
She was born Leuntine Brown on November 4, 1957 in Port Gibson, Mississippi. She is the daughter of the late Lenzy and Beatrice Brown. “Tine” as she was affectionately called by her family and “Tina” by the love of her life Salvador and step-family. Tine was the youngest of 10 children. She was educated in the Port Gibson Public School system and was a graduate of the class of 1975. Tine furthered her education at Alcorn College of Mississippi.
After college she relocated to Kansas City, KS, which became her home. Leuntine was employed at Colgate-Palmolive, Blue Valley Bank and at the Immigration Company where she later retired.
Tine was a child of God. She professed her belief in Christ, accepting Him as her personal Lord & Savior at an early age. Tine united with the Metropolitan Baptist Church under the Pastoral Leadership of the late Rev. Robert Baynham.
Tine was preceded in death by her father Lenzy Brown, her mother Katie Beatrice Brown, her brothers Benard Brown and David Brown and her sister Katie Beatrice Major. She leaves to cherish her loving memories: her loving friend Salvador Esteban, Sr. of Kansas City, MO.; six siblings Rosetta Brown, Mary Ann Brown, Lucille Bradley of Kansas City, KS, Willie Ruth Pannell (Johnnie) of Lee Summit, MO, Arthur Lee Brown, Carolyn Buck (LA) of Port Gibson, MS; four step-children Sophia Esteban-Green (Stephen), Jolinda Renne of Lenexa, KS, Angel Galic (Allan), and Salvador Esteban Jr. of Basehor, KS. Six Grandchildren and three Great-Grandchildren; close friends Martha Dotson and Ever Jean Small of Port Gibson, MS, Carolyn Moore of Vicksburg, MS, and a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives, church members and friends.
A visitation for Leuntine Brown will be held Saturday, August 20, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Chapel Hill - Butler Funeral Home, 701 North 94th Street, Kansas City, KS 66112, followed by a funeral service at 12:00 PM.
