Louise M. Nightwine, 90, of Kansas City, Kansas, passed away December 8, 2018 at Bonner Springs Nursing and Rehab. A visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 a.m., Thursday, December 13, 2018 with funeral services to follow at 11:00 a.m., at Chapel Hill-Butler Funeral Home, 701 North 94th Street, Kansas City, Kansas. Interment will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Encompass Hospice.
A lifelong area resident, Louise was born March 27, 1928 in Kansas City, Kansas, the daughter of Clarence and Pearl (Dassow) Murphy. She graduated from Washington Rural High School in 1946 and was joined in marriage to Dale Nightwine in 1950. Louise worked for Katz Drug Store and Universal Printing Company before becoming a secretary at TWA for many years. She was a lifetime member of The Order of the Eastern Star, Gladiola Chapter 549. Louise enjoyed gardening, crafts and ceramics, and shopping, especially at K-Mart. She loved her family and especially enjoyed doting on her grandchildren.
Louise was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 62 years, Dale Nightwine; brother, Edwin Murphy; and brother-in-law, James Nightwine.
Survivors include her children: Brenda Tillery and husband Kenneth of Kansas City, Kansas, Deborah Theno and husband Rick of Lenexa, Kansas, Leslie Kay Boyd and husband Michael K of Kansas City, Kansas, Georgia Kuebelbeck and husband Ron of Shawnee, Kansas, Scott A. Nightwine and wife Gloria of Kansas City, Missouri, and Duane R. Nightwine and wife Shawna of De Soto, Kansas; grandchildren, Kendra Parris and husband Darryl, Kacy Sloan and husband Bill, Kodi Fleshman and husband Brett, Michael Kuebelbeck, Michelle Korosec and husband Alan, Tony Burns and wife Pam, Justin Coleman, Jared Clark, and twins: Samantha and Sydney Nightwine; great-grandchildren, Hunter & Ryder Zinn, Chase Korosec, and Jacob & Lily Burns; and her brother, Leaman Murphy. She was loved by all who knew her.
