Colleen S. (née Moore) Easterday of Raytown, MO was born August 22, 1932, in Macon, MO. She retired after 32 years of teaching elementary school in the Raytown school district.
Colleen will be remembered for her love of life, nature and educating children. She was an avid gardener and bird watcher. She was a member of the Raytown Garden Club. She was a passionate fan of the Royals and Chiefs and also worked part-time at the stadiums. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She attended First Baptist Church of Raytown, later renamed Connection Point.
Colleen was preceded in death by her husband Dean L. Easterday, by her parents Collin M. Moore and Jane E. (Lamb) Moore and her brother Thomas B. Moore. She will be greatly missed by her daughter and son-in-law Linda E. and Bryan C. Foster of Lee's Summit and by her son Scott R. Easterday of Raytown. She will also be remembered by her grand daughter and grand son-in-law Megan L. and Jason E. Carney and her great grandchildren Jacob and Sabina. She is also remembered by her brother Daniel G. and his wife Cora Sue Moore and her sister Jane Ann and her husband Larry Hosford along with 12 nieces and nephews and 14 great nieces and nephews and numerous other family and friends.
The funeral will be Friday, June 11 at Floral Hills Funeral Home and Cemetery, 7000 Blue Ridge Blvd, Kansas City, MO, Visitation 1:00 pm, Celebration of Life 2:00 pm and Gravesite Service to follow. Masks are encouraged.
