Visitation will be Friday, April 20 from 1:00 – 3:00 PM at McGilley Antioch Chapel, 3325 NE Vivion Road, Kansas City. Following cremation, Dick will rest in the arms of his loving family.
Dick was born in Waco, MO on February 2, 1937 to John and Thelma Scurlock. He attended Pittsburg State Collage on a football scholarship. After college, Dick moved to Kansas City to begin his 39 year career as a merchandise manager with the Jones Store Co. Soon after, he met and married his wife, Dorothy. He loved his job, his co-workers and the travels they all enjoyed.
Dick is preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Susan Dunlap. Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Dorothy; his sons Jeff (Kris) and Tim (Katie), all of Kansas City; brother Jim (Karen) of Oroville, CA; four step-grandchildren, Maureen, Annie, Billy and Danny; and his beloved “granddog” Georgia.
