Eleanor Yvonne Poindexter August 29th, 1937 - October 12th, 2020 Eleanor Yvonne Poindexter, 83, fluffed her wings, spread them wide, and added a pink, sparkly, glitzy cape as she soared to heaven on Monday October 12th at the Cleveland Clinic Hospital in Vero Beach, Florida. She was being held by her daughter, Sherri Davis, at the time of her transition. She was born in Joplin, Missouri and later moved to Lincoln, Missouri, where she graduated from Lincoln High School. Eleanor retired from the House of Lloyd in Grandview, Missouri. She was a Regional Sales Manager, which gave her the opportunity to do what she loved to do, which was talk, laugh, and make new friends. Survivors include her wonderful, loving, and selfless husband of 45 years, Jim Poindexter of Vero Beach, Florida; Son, Doyle Dwayne Davis of Lincoln, Missouri, Daughter, Sherri Davis of Vero Beach, Florida; Daughter–in-law, Lori Miller of Vero Beach, Florida, Daughter Debbie Poindexter, and son Doug Poindexter, both of Atlanta Georgia. She has two beautiful Great Granddaughters; Alexandra Russell, of Lee’s Summit, Missouri and Kailyn Ciera Miller of Kentucky. She was preceded in death by her first Grandchild, Dwayne David Davis. Eleanor loved and adored her sisters and their children; her big sister Betty Love, of Springfield, Missouri and her nieces and nephews, Mark, Suzi, Dina, John, and June, as well as her baby sister Janice Bennet of Jacksonville, Florida and her nieces and nephews, Phyllis, Bobbie, Steven, Tori, and Lori. In Lieu of Flowers, the family would like for you to consider donating to the Visiting Nurses Association (VNA) in Vero Beach, Florida at www.vnatc.com in her memory. The VNA brought much comfort to Eleanor and her family.
