George V. Laugesen, 98, Lee’s Summit, Missouri, passed away July 10, 2013 at John Knox Village. He was born July 26, 1914 and lived most of his life in the Kansas City area until he moved to Lee’s Summit in 1987. He was a graduate of Westport High School and attended Kansas City Junior College. Mr. Laugesen worked for the U.S. Postal Service, retiring in 1974.
He was a veteran of WWII and a member of the American Legion and Post Office Post 80. He was also a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees, Kansas City Chapter 20, and the AARP. He was a Presbyterian by faith.
Mr. Laugesen was preceded in death by parents Louis J., Sr. and Jensine A. (Sorensen) Laugesen, one brother and one sister. He is survived by two nephews, extended family and friends.
